Folsom Connect

Folsom, CA Community

If you’ve ever thought about trying rock climbing but didn’t know where to start, Granite Arch Climbing Center is the place to jump in. Just a quick drive from Folsom, California, you’ll find it in Rancho Cordova at 11335-G Folsom Blvd. This spot is packed with energy, challenge, and all the “you got this!” vibes you need to tackle something new.

Step Inside: More Than Just a Gym

Granite Arch isn’t your average climbing gym. It’s a 20,000 square foot playground for anyone who wants to climb, sweat, and laugh. The walls here aren’t just tall—they’re up to 35 feet high and designed to mimic real rock, so you get that outdoor adventure feeling without worrying about the weather. There are over 150 routes at any given time, with grades from super-friendly beginner climbs (5.4) to routes that’ll test even the most seasoned climbers (up to 5.13cd).

Try It All: Top Rope, Lead, Autobelay, and Bouldering

  • Top Rope and Lead Climbing: Grab a harness, tie in, and go for it. Whether you’re learning the ropes or chasing your next big send, you’ll find a route that fits.

  • Auto Belays: No climbing partner? No problem. Clip in and climb solo with confidence.

  • Bouldering: No ropes, just you and the wall. The bouldering area is about 12 feet tall with big, cushy mats. Perfect for quick climbs and working on your moves.

First Time? You’re in Good Hands

Walking into Granite Arch for the first time is easy. The staff will give you a quick orientation so you know exactly what to do. Don’t have gear? Rent everything you need—shoes, harness, chalk bag, and more are available. All you need is a signed waiver and a photo ID, and you’re set.

  • No age limit (but kids 7 and up have the most fun)

  • Auto belay weight range: 35 to 300 pounds

  • No reservation needed for individuals or small groups

  • Dog-friendly (as long as your pup is chill and on a leash)

Bring Your Crew: Parties, Groups, and Team Building

Looking for a wild birthday party or a team-building day that’s actually fun? Granite Arch rolls out the red carpet for groups of all kinds.

  • Birthday Parties: Staff-supervised climbing, a party area, and access to Adventure Village (the ultimate kid’s play zone). Packages start at $250 for up to 7 climbers.

  • Corporate and Scout Events: Choose staff-led or self-managed group options. All gear included, and you can add a belay class for extra learning.

  • Late-Nighter Events: For those who want to climb into the night, book a private session from 8pm to midnight.

Kids and Youth Programs: Start ‘Em Young

Granite Arch is packed with programs to get kids moving, thinking, and having a blast.

  • Climbing Club: Eight-week sessions for ages 7-12. Perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics and make friends.

  • Recreational and Competitive Teams: For ages 10-18, these teams help young climbers level up their skills and even compete.

  • Homeschool Classes: PE with a twist—learn knots, belaying, and teamwork in weekly sessions.

  • Summer Camps: Week-long adventures with games, climbing, rope swings, and more.

  • Tiny Trailblazers and Mini Mountaineers: Programs for the youngest climbers to build confidence, balance, and coordination.
